mHS Global Impact

mHS Global Impact is a social venture that focuses on improving the quality of the informally built environment in developing countries.

Established in 2009 in Delhi, India, mHS Global Impact is today managed by a nonprofit Foundation based in the Netherlands, with operational headquarters in Milan, Italy, and a team of collaborators working in the field in India.

The interdisciplinary think-tank of architects, designers, sociologists, economists and software developers works towards the goal of making our cities more resilient and socially inclusive. mHS’s action research, following a human centered design approach, led to the implementation of innovative financial and technological products to support and empower low income communities living in informal settlements.

In the years mHS acquired a deep knowledge of the processes driving the housing sector in low-income communities, shelter projects and emergency contexts. mHS promotes and implements innovative housing products and services, acts as a consultant for large multi-agencies programs and is contributing to the debate about resilience, inclusiveness and quality of housing.

Amongst its clients are the World Bank, the Ashoka Foundation and national NGOs. Its work has been supported by the Ford Foundation, Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, Internet.org by Facebook, Cisco Foundation and others.
